Ashley Hunt-Martorano is the Events Manager at Americans United for Separation of Church and State. Ashley brings over fifteen years of experience in project management and event organization, particularly within environmental and climate change nonprofits. Prior to joining AU, she served as the Marketing & Events Manager at Citizens’ Climate Lobby, a grassroots nonpartisan climate advocacy organization. In this role, she organized annual conferences and lobby days in Washington, D.C., and oversaw the digital marketing strategy. Ashley has experience organizing a wide variety of events ranging from small, intimate gatherings to large-scale conferences. Her portfolio includes small panel events, medium-sized regional conferences with 200 attendees, and large-scale, four-day conferences featuring 100 speakers across 30 sessions with over 1,500 attendees.
Ashley co-founded and led the Long Island chapter of Citizens’ Climate Lobby in 2012, demonstrating her passion for community organizing and volunteer recruitment. She graduated summa cum laude from Marshall University with a B.A. in Psychology and cum laude from Stony Brook University/SUNY (‘09) with a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology.
Beyond her professional work, Ashley is a dedicated volunteer with the Suffolk County chapter of the New York Civil Liberties Union and is deeply passionate about the separation of church and state, particularly as it relates to reproductive justice. Ashley was born and raised in West Virginia and now resides on Long Island, N.Y. In her free time, she enjoys reading thrillers, mysteries, and historical fiction and spending time at the beach with her husband and their three rescue dogs, Murphy, Gryffin, and Winston.
