Fighting Christian Nationalism

Protecting our nation against the waves of Christian Nationalism for nearly 80 years

Christian Nationalism is an existential threat to our democracy

White Christian Nationalism is the dangerous belief that America is – and must remain – a Christian nation founded for its white Christian inhabitants and that our laws and policies must reflect this.  Christian Nationalists deny the separation of church and state promised by our Constitution, and they oppose equality for people of color, women, LGBTQ+ people, religious minorities, and the nonreligious.

“Christian Nationalism,” and “white Christian Nationalism,” describe a political movement that is trying to destroy our democracy by undermining church-state separation and declaring America a “Christian nation.” The resurgence of this movement is part of the backlash against the changing demographics in America and the struggle to retain traditional white Christian power structures.

Here are the most dangerous campaigns we're fighting today

FIND OUT WHAT'S REALLY HAPPENING

White Christian Nationalism’s intersection with racism and discrimination is often traced back to the early 19th century when the split between abolitionist evangelicals and conservative evangelicals emerged. From the conservative side of this split grew Jim Crow laws and the systemic racism we are fighting today.

Now called white Christian nationalism, this movement continues to use religion to justify their personal and political positions on systemic racism, critical race theory, misogyny, abortion, homophobia and transphobia.

Christian Nationalists Want

to force all of us to live by their narrow religious beliefs.

They want to:
    • Ban abortion and reproductive healthcare
    • Destroy our public education system
    • Erase Trans people
    • Roll back LGBTQ+ protections
    • Ban books and censor art

This Shadow Network

handpicks Supreme Court justices, creates cases for those justices to decide, and created the Project 2025 playbook which outlines many of the policy changes the Trump Administration is implementing at record speed.

Christian Nationalists are

trying to rewrite our history and values and destroy the separation of church and state.

They promote myths about:

  • America’s founding
  • The separation of church and state
  • What the Founding Fathers really said
  • Prayer in school

Christian Nationalists

have been working for decades to create a nation that favors white evangelical men above everyone else.

This un-American campaign

began when conservative politicans began uniting the evangelical community and televangelist preachers – like Jerry Falwell – with political agendas that opposed desegregation, a movement later called the Moral Majority.
