Eli earned his Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School, where he received the Ruth Bader Ginsburg Prize for outstanding academic achievement and the Robert Noxon Toppan Prize for excellence in constitutional law. During his time at Columbia, Eli served as the Executive Publications Editor for the Journal of Law and Social Problems, externed with the Knight First Amendment Institute, and interned with the Honorable Valerie E. Caproni of the Southern District of New York. Before joining Americans United, Eli clerked for the Honorable Richard G. Andrews in the District of Delaware.
Eli earned a B.A. in Political Science with distinction from Yale University. He spends his free time running, practicing guitar, and learning to ice skate—much to his embarrassment as a native Mainer.
