Amy Tai is Senior Litigation Counsel at Americans United for Separation of Church and State.
Amy has extensive federal court litigation experience. Before joining Americans United, Amy served as a senior trial attorney for ten years at the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of the Solicitor, where she led litigation to enforce worker protection laws. Prior to the DOL, Amy was a senior staff attorney for six years at the Urban Justice Center where she litigated wage and hour, labor trafficking, and right to organizing cases, and facilitated a state legislative advocacy campaign against wage theft.
Amy began her legal career as an immigration staff attorney for the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. She has also taught a community lawyering clinic at NYU Law.
Amy received her J.D., cum laude, from American University Washington College of Law and graduated with high honors from Emory University. She is a member of the New York State Bar.
