During the Summit for Religious Freedom, attendees took time to celebrate a special awardee: Sanchi Rohira, a student at Georgetown University, received Americans United’s David Norr Youth Activist Award.
Rohira was recognized for her work organizing students in defense of equality and justice on campus. Amy Norr, a member of AU’s Board of Trustees, presented the award to Rohira in honor of her Norr’s late father, who was a member of Americans United for more than 25 years.
Accepting the award, Rohira shared some thoughts on the importance of organizing, telling attendees that the most vital lesson she has learned is the importance of solidarity.
