Student Contest Information Page for Educators

Help AU spread the word about our student contest and have the chance to win gift cards!

AU’s annual student contest is now open to submissions and we’d love your help to spread the word!

The educator who refers the most students who enter the contest will receive a $100 Visa gift card and all educators who refer at least one student will be entered into a random raffle for one of ten $25 gift cards.

We are excited to work with you to share this contest with students. With your help, we hope to reach a greater number of students than ever before.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do you know which students I referred?

When students submit their entry to the contest (using this form), they will be asked if an educator referred them and, if so, to provide their referrer’s school or professional email address. When you promote the contest, let students know that they should provide your email address as their referrer.

What students are eligible for the contest?

The contest is open to high school students and undergraduate students attending any 2- or 4-year college or university including trade and technical schools. Students must live in the United States including the fifty states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. territories. Employees and board members of Americans United, and members of their families, are not eligible to participate.

Is there an age limit? Can a young person enter if they're not in school?

No, any student currently enrolled in high school or an undergraduate degree are eligible. And no, a young person who is not currently in school is not eligible.

What kind of gift card can I win?

The educator who refers the most students who enter the contest will receive a $100 gift card and all educators who refer at least one student will be entered into a random raffle for one of ten $25 gift cards. AU will contact the winners after the contest closes to arrange for electronic delivery of the gift card.

When is the deadline for submissions?

Students must submit their entry to the contest using this form by 11:59 PM PT on Monday, October 6, 2025

Is this a scholarship?

While scholarships tend to go toward tuition or other educational expenses, students who win AU’s student contest can use their prize winnings as they see fit including higher education tuition or related expenses. Participants must be students, but winners aren’t required to use their prize for educational purposes.
