What will Project 2025 do?
Project 2025 is a plan for restructuring the federal government so that Christian Nationalists can make everyone follow their narrow religious beliefs. Right in the introduction to Project 2025 it calls for “deleting” LGBTQ+ equality, reproductive freedom, and diversity, equity and inclusion from “every federal rule, agency regulation, contract, grant, regulation, and piece of legislation that exists.”
Project 2025 plans to:
- Roll back LGBTQ+ rights
- Erase marriage equality
- Ban the most accessible forms of abortion and limit reproductive health care
- Create obstacles for racial justice
- Eliminate the Department of Education
- Fund private religious schools with taxpayer money
- Use religious freedom to discriminate

Project 2025: abortion access
In a Project 2025 future, the federal government will make rules based on the religious belief that life begins at conception and that abortion is not real medical care, even if doctors and scientists say otherwise. The government will stop medication abortions, which is the easiest and safest way for most Americans to get an abortion and has been proven safe and effective for more than 20 years. Project 2025 will also take away access to emergency abortion care under the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act. It will increase “abortion surveillance” to scare pregnant people who need abortion care.

Project 2025: LGBTQ+ rights
In a Project 2025 future, what Christian Nationalists call “transgender ideology” will be banned. The federal government will stop enforcing laws that protect LGBTQ+ people from discrimination in schools, workplaces, healthcare, and social services. The government will also use taxpayer money to support organizations that promote Christian nationalists’ views of “biblically based” family structures and will not recognize LGBTQ+ families as real families.

Project 2025: public education
In a Project 2025 future, public schools won’t be welcoming places where all kids can learn, think for themselves, and do well. There won’t be a Department of Education to make sure everyone gets a good education and that students who are LGBTQ+, Black or Brown, or have disabilities are protected. Public money will be diverted to private religious schools that can indoctrinate and discriminate.

A powerful web of white Christian Nationalist organizations, billionaires, and powerful political people at all levels of government. They have been actively working together since the 1970s to replace our democracy with a theocracy. Project 2025 is the latest step in this long plan.
The groups behind Project 2025
Since the 1950s, the architects of Project 2025 have been designing and honing their agenda to oppose racial integration, LGBTQ+ rights, reproductive rights and women’s rights.
This Shadow Network handpicks Supreme Court justices, engineers cases for those justices to decide, and crafts alternative facts or ‘deceitful narratives’ for the media and justices to use when discussing these legal controversies. They stalk statehouses and other halls of power to advance policies and legislation that will impose their beliefs on everyone else. Their goal is an officially Christian nation, and nothing is safe, including our democracy.
